O2ptima Rebreather Counter Lungs are available in standard, 3 liter (6 liter total volume) or smaller 2 liter size (4 liter total volume). The 2L counter lungs are ideal for women, where lung volume generally tends to be less than men. The O2ptima’s over-the-shoulder design counterlungs provide easier work of breathing in all dive positions. They include diluent and oxygen manual addition valves and an over pressurization valve is located on the exhalation counterlung. The O2ptima FX counter lungs are constructed of heavy-duty, tear-resistant Rhinotec. NOTE: Some men or larger individuals may wish to choose the 2L counter lungs with the thought of being more streamlined. However, caution should be used as these counter lungs may not provide the necessary volume for a male and/or diver of larger stature in strong ocean current and/or heavy flow.
